History

Moreton Hospitality is an emerging hospitality organisation formed by the Anthony Moreton Group. With an extensive history and expertise in property development and investment, Anthony Moreton Group developed an appetite for the hospitality industry and went on to create Moreton Hospitality. The acquisition of three strategically located properties on the Gold Coast between 2013 and 2015 sparked this passion and paved the way for entry into the food and beverage, entertainment, accommodation and retail liquor sectors. These properties were The Beach Hotel in Broadbeach, Marina Quays Tavern, and Marina Quays International Resort.
  • The Group refurbished Marina Quays International Resort and rebranded it as Ramada Hope Harbour. While the Wyndham Hotel Group took over hotel management, the Anthony Moreton Group retained operational oversight of the restaurant, bar, function, and conference facilities until the property was eventually sold.
  • Marina Quays Tavern in Hope Island was acquired by the Group and subsequently leased to Wesfarmers (Liquorland) under a triple-net lease arrangement before being sold.
  • Following the acquisition of the original Beach Hotel Broadbeach in 2013, the Group demolished the property to make way for a 35-storey mixed-use development comprising 219 Avani residential apartments and 1,800m² of ground-floor space for a restaurant, bar, and gaming facilities. The Anthony Moreton Group oversaw operations for these venues. In November 2024 and under the newly formed Moreton Hospitality, the renovated ground floor now features Cora, a new restaurant, and a private events space, The Club House. This renovation also marks the return of The Beach Hotel Broadbeach, showcasing a refreshed interior and an upscale public bar.

As the founder and Chief Executive of Moreton Hospitality, Tony is responsible for the strategic planning and high-level management of the group. Tony is dedicated to creating exceptional guest experiences in our venues. He is committed to building a pre-eminent hospitality group.

Darren Hanson

COO

Darren is a chartered accountant with over 25 years of experience in public practice, banking, finance, property, and hospitality across Australia and overseas. Now serving as COO of a Moreton Hospitality, Darren leverages his expertise in financial analysis, operations, and strategic management to drive business performance and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Emily Plummer

Director of Marketing, Brand and Communications

Emily began her career as a management consultant and Chartered Accountant at Pricewaterhouse Coopers before transitioning into Marketing, Branding, and Communications. Over time, she has built a diverse client portfolio spanning retail, fashion, tourism, and hospitality. With her cross-industry expertise and strong business acumen, Emily focuses on delivering commercial and customer-driven integrated marketing solutions.

Damien Noyes

CFO

Damien is a Chartered Accountant with an academic background in Commerce majoring in Finance and Accounting. In his role as CFO, he is responsible for leading the Finance Department and Human Resources. In addition, Damien maintains a position as a Member of the Board of Moreton Hospitality, driving growth and operational efficiencies through financial decision making.

Shane Mah

Senior Graphic Designer

With a bachelor’s in design, Shane brings extensive expertise in advertising, production, and brand strategy across national and international brands like Conrad Treasury, W Hotel, Radisson Blu Hotels, and Flight Centre. His background in design leadership and project management highlights his strength in visual communication, allowing him to creatively translate brands into impactful visual identities.

Lily Donahoe

Brand Manager

With a passion for hospitality and marketing, Lily began her career managing a Sunshine Coast restaurant while studying Business and Marketing. After agency work with diverse clients, she became a Campaigns Specialist at The Coffee Club. Now as Moreton Hospitality’s Brand Manager, Lily focuses on elevating brand presence and creating memorable guest experiences.

Tim Dunleavy

Finance Manager

Tim is a provisional chartered accountant and lawyer who serves as a key team member in the finance operations of Moreton Hospitality. Tim comes to us with a strong professional services background where he spent 2 years at BDO working in Corporate Tax.Tim is responsible for monitoring the day-to-day financial operations of the group, and reporting on the financial performance of the group.

Sarah Munro

Operations Manager - Broadbeach

Sarah is a results-oriented Operations Manager with extensive experience overseeing the daily operations of large hospitality precincts. Skilled in streamlining processes and managing diverse teams, she thrives on creating a seamless guest experience while maximizing efficiency across multiple venues.

Tapos Singha

Head Chef - Broadbeach

Tapos has worked in the kitchens of numerous highly acclaimed restaurants, including Merivale’s three-hatted Est at Establishment, the two-hatted Lucio’s in Paddington, and The Watsons Bay Hotel. In 2015, he launched Bang Street Food, a unique concept celebrating modern Bangladeshi cuisine that reflects the street food of his youth. As a Bangladeshi native, Tapos has garnered recognition from notable publications such as The New York Times, Gourmet Traveller Australia, Qantas Magazine, Sunday Telegraph, and Vogue Australia. Tapos is passionate about sourcing the freshest local produce and showcasing it in the restaurant. Looking ahead, he aims to continue mentoring and training young chefs, sharing his knowledge and love for cooking with the next generation.

General Manager

With over 40 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Todd has held diverse roles, including CEO of Eagle Boys Pizza and National Operations Manager at Sizzler restaurants. He has also owned and operated a small local restaurant group and worked with Stewart Hotel Group to prepare Coolum Beach Hotel, Kawana Water Hotel, and Forest Lake Hotel for sale to ALH Group. Todd is passionate about delivering on-trend and authentic food and beverage experiences.

Marisa Clayton

Assistant Manager

Marisa has an expansive background in hospitality, with 40 years of experience that includes a national operations support role at Sizzler Restaurants and positions at Warner Brothers Movie World and several five-star hotels as a Director of Food and Beverage. She brings expertise in procurement, processes, and human resources, with a strong focus on driving business control and efficiency.
